This isn’t just food; it’s an experience that caters to a myriad of dietary preferences. Diners can find numerous vegan options, ensuring that everyone—from strict vegans to curious carnivores—leaves satisfied.

- The TFT: For those seeking something crispy and indulgent, this classic features deep-marinated tofu in a perfectly crispy coating, garnished with a spicy mayo and carrot-cabbage slaw. Priced at $17, it’s a crowd-pleaser that keeps loyal fans returning.
- Burnt Broccoli Salad: A quintessential side dish, this salad combines pleasantly charred broccoli with creamy eggplant and crunchy cashews, topped with hot pickled peppers. Vegan and priced at $13, it encapsulates the playful yet sophisticated approach to flavor.

100% vegetarian restaurant, serving my favorite burger and vegan desserts in NYC. This is actually Superiority Burger 2.0, an expansion (and huge upgrade) from their original hole in the wall concept, which was located a few blocks away. Now operating in the historic space that was once Odessa Restaurant, the place has homey vintage punk rock diner vibes. I came here with two vegan friends, and was pleased to find that they can make nearly anything on the menu vegan. All the desserts were vegan too. We shared their famous Burnt Broccoli Salad, a delicious side featuring savory eggplant puree and pickled Fresno chilis. This is a must order, but my favorite small plate was the Sweet & Sour Beets, a beet salad with fried pretzels pieces on a bed of scallion cream cheese. Their namesake, The Superiority Burger, is entirely plant based and house made from scratch; no fake meat. It's texture is firm and somehow truly meaty, with a pleasantly crisp exterior. Everyone in my group loved it, from my strict vegan friends, to my meat eating husband. The only dish we did not love was the Collard Greens Sandwich. The greens themselves were tender and dripping in sharp cheddar cheese, but the focaccia was overly thick and dense, making it difficult to eat. Whatever you do, do not skip dessert. In fact, order at least 3 desserts. My favorite was the Pearl Pie, which was reminiscent of a Key Lime Pie, but with passionfruit custard and li hing puree on top, studded with tapioca pearls. The Strawberry Cake was moist and flavorful, and the Peanut Butter Pie was light as a cloud. Highly recommended.

A fan of Superiority Burger back when it was a tiny, casual restaurant with a smaller and less expensive menu, I was excited to finally eat at the larger, fancier Superiority Burger. It still has plenty of its old charm and character. Service was superb. They were able to accommodate two high chairs and gamely tolerated our two toddlers. We ordered the superiority burger with hash browns (instead of cauliflower), the yuba-verde, and gelato. Of the three sandwiches, my favorite was, to my surprise, the collard greens. The flavorful, creamy greens in soft focaccia bread was sublime. The burger was excellent, as were the hash browns. The yuba sandwich, which used to be my favorite sandwich at the old location, was for me good, but lacking in enough yuba. Normally a fan of abundant veggies, I felt the broccoli rabe volume overshadowed the yuba, my favorite part. The spicy sauce gave the sandwich necessary oomph. The broccoli rabe was cooked to perfection though. Every sandwich was packed with flavor. We tried the ice cream flavors available--cafe au lait and orange creamsicle (vegan). Not flavors I would normally have chosen, but both were very good and somewhat unusual. They made me really focus my taste buds since the notes were complex and contrasting. I preferred the former since it was creamier. I did think the price was a bit expensive for two scoops. Overall we had an excellent dining experience, with leftovers to spare. There was plenty of seating available; we walked in without a reservation around noon on a Saturday and had no trouble getting seated.

So good! Lived to to my expectations. I got the tofu sandwich and side of broccoli. The flavors were crazy good!

I didn't know what to expect when my partner told me we were going to a "vegetarian" place, but I really enjoyed all the dishes at Superiority Burger! It's kinda like a lunchonette/diner and only features veggie based things (vegan options available). Not gonna lie I was craving Southern food so I had to get the collard greens sandwich. The greens were cooked nicely and very well seasoned. It was cheesy and creamy but not overly heavy, thus paired really well with the crunchy and light focaccia bread. The toasted sesame added another layer of flavor and texture. The yuba verde also surprised me! It was very well seasoned and savory. The yuba reminded me of Chinese tofu skin. The filling to bread ratio was solid, although the bread became soggy at the end from the juices. Also got the hashbrown special which featured crispy edges that contrasted nicely with a savory mayo-cheese like sauce and other toppings. I can see how the menu might not be for everyone but I thoroughly enjoyed my food! The store itself has a good amount of seating. Staff weren't super friendly but polite. Food came out pretty quick and prices were appropriate for the portions sizes!

I never really cared for the famous vegetarian burger that Superiority Burger is named for, but I spent years going to their tiny takeout window on 9th Street. I couldn't resist their TFT (tofu fried tofu) sandwich and that incredible charred broccoli salad. Chef/owner Brooks Headley would always create something amazing from whatever he found at the local greenmarket. We all knew he could work magic in the kitchen, even though he barely had any space to work with. When I heard they were moving into the old Odessa Diner space with a real kitchen, I couldn't wait to see what they'd do. I've been there quite a bit now - for brunch, dinner, and plenty of dessert runs. The food is good, but the desserts are really what keep me coming back. I loved the waffle with guava butter, and they make this wonderful collard greens sandwich on the most delicious focaccia bread. Some things weren't quite as exciting - the lentils with cornbread didn't do much for me, and the Sloppy Dave was forgettable. The TFT is still perfect though. I wouldn't bother with the house-made soda. The desserts are really something special. I regularly buy their ice cream by the pint. The labne flavor is my favorite. It's creamy and tart in all the right ways. I tried their pandan box pie and raspberry tart too, and they were both incredible. I keep finding reasons to go back for more. I really love what they've done with the space. They kept all the campy charm of the old Odessa Diner, and it feels so comfortable and welcoming when you're there.

I had an amazing experience at the Superiority Burger! The burger itself was absolutely delicious - one of the best vegan burgers I've ever had. I also enjoyed the sweet potato dish, and my husband's salad looked very good as well. I went with a group for lunch at noon on a Thursday, and the place was not too full. It feels like a deli setting, but everything is vegan, which is a great concept. Service was friendly, and they were very attentive to my husband's allergies. Unfortunately, they had issues with my husband's mushroom allergy, since they said there were mushrooms all over the kitchen so it would be difficult to avoid cross-contamination overall but especially in the cooked food. He had no issues with the salad, so I thought maybe they were also just being extra careful with the allergy as well by telling him to avoid the cooked foods. I would definitely come back just for that burger!
